Get good? I'm nearly done and you didn't read what I said. All you have to do is toss stun bombs and whack or cut. Level up pistol, and jank kill everyone.
I mean if ya don't wanna add anything but one word or one sentence why post? Seems like derailing from the topic. In what way is the combat more fun than system shock 2? Personally speaking I liked ss1 more, but ss2 still has better combat than this. More weapons, more options, and better effects. This.. Why is the pistol so strong and these other weapons aren't even worth collecting besides to take up huge inventory space?
The saying get gud is strange considering this is a non skill game. It's a know what to do game, which requires no getting gud whatsoever.
Also it's just strange to me that this game I've heard about for decades like it's some kinda legend. But it's... I can't say it's bad but it's certainly not what it was hyped to be, and it's not better than IW. Only reason I wanna beat it is to replay iw. But the way fans trash iw it almost seems like spite. Because It really don't deserve it, it gave the series a better more fleshed out story, with better voice acting. Also why I don't trust popular or group gamer opinions anymore. Everytime they insist on something I find myself thinking the opposite. Also the storyline doesn't even seem serious, not like IW, it seems more like janky gags. There's also no visible reason for a long time who the enemies are or why they are so sinister. You just gotta believe the fringe world conspiracy, mean old guberment.
Also world isn't believable. So after you show off the darksaber a bunch of high tech space Marines bust in. But these thugs kill these guys before they even make it to cj. So what's with the badass armor if they can't even kill a thug?
But one thing I will say, the revision mod is excellent. The modders need to make their own remaster company. Would do a hell of a lot better job than nightdive currently.
happy for u tho
or sorry that happened
It literally does require skill lol, want to get better at rifles, upgrade the rifle skill smh
>proceeds to trash and strawman the story to pretend Invisible War (of all things) and Revision are good
Yeah I ain't wasting my time with this mate
Also, why would you complain of a 25 year old game? If you can enjoy it, do it for what it is; if not, move on.
It doesn't mean you won't enjoy Dues Ex now if you were not around back then, but it's not going to have the same impact (if any) that it did back then. Especially the story since it's over saturated with that stuff now.
As for Invisible War...are you seriously trying to sit there with a straight face and tell us the worst entry in the franchise is the best?
It's an okay game but a terrible sequel, end of discussion.
Pick a different horse next time because no one (very few) will back you on the IW front.
I'm curious as to why you didn't pick Human Revolution or Mankind divided? At least those were worthy Dues Ex sequels. I mean you had better odds at getting some allies on here to help with...whatever this is.
What exactly is your point here anyway? Actually wait, never mind it just occurred to me that I really don't care.
Where was I? Right, you want advice from a respected peer and elder. Lets see....
Look...just do what I did as a teen: look at your elders fury, smile and then shrug and walk away. There is no way I would have wasted the time you have blabbing about this here.
I'm old now (fairly sure 40 is considered positively decrepit and enfeebled by today's youth.) so no, this rant does not count. See? The benefits of being old is you can get away with barely coherent rants, indeed people expect it and thus I'm happy to deliver.
Good day sir!
Note: save your youthful and energetic reply, your rebuttal will be discarded. Once again I invoke the power of the elderly. Too stubborn to listen or accept the changing world around me et-cetera, et-cetera.
I could definitely get used to this and will fully abuse this power once I actually reach retirement...assuming of course my faculties are still intact.
Hmm, the human brain peaks between 40-60 years of age, after which it degrades (even shrinks) at an exponential rate...I might need to put more thought into this plan. I wonder if a larger brain has any effect on the outcome? Eh, don't mind me I went off script long ago.
Just let me calculate this in peace. I need to work out if I'll even make it to retirement before I'm afflicted by some undocumented malady of the mind. The more I think about this the less I like my odds...damn this cruel world.
OP: In case it's not clear the first half was semi-serious (just on the off chance you were serious), the 2nd half was insane ranting. Notice any similarities? Big posts get ignored by most, just so you know. Notice how I deftly changed tone midway through my post. I knew at that point that reader retention had went from 80% (deduct 20% because big posts are scary to some) down to like 10%. Thus, training wheels come off and I can let my madness run rampant because most will never see it. Genius right? What do you mean why did I bother if that were the case? Hmm...♥♥♥♥, you got me there. Because I felt like it, it's why this part is one big paragraph. The ultimate deterrent so that only you and I know the truth of it. Because if you've read this far then sanity is a moot point for us both.
I mean I read your posts, but I'm clearly mad so I wouldn't use it as a watermark.
Because OP's entire purpose on this forum is to do opposite-day-style trolling where he basically oscillates between spending a small amount of effort and a large amount of effort to express the worst opinions possible
No worries.
I half suspected that he was just venting or trolling, hence my half serious/half crackpot reply. That way I answered if he was being serious, but I also answered if he wasn't.
I noticed that he put up a negative review of the game as well. He's putting a lot of effort into this whether he's serious or trolling.
That was my point, he's wasting entirely too much energy on this because:
1) He's not going to convince die hard fans of Dues Ex 1 to suddenly think Invisible War -of all things- is superior.
2) Even if he's trolling was it really worth it? I mean I get it, we all want a laugh but there's better ways of achieving it without expending so much energy. It's inefficient, it should be minimal effort for maximum laughs. He needs a better game plan.
Anyway, I have said my piece so that's enough out of me or I'll be doing the same thing I accused him of doing. At that juncture I would just be a hypocrite :P
Goodluck mate.
Just go to the CDPR Witcher 4 discussion area, it'll be easier ;)
1999 ' The Matrix '
2000 ' Deus Ex '
Maybe next time you play the game during its hype phase of global secret government conspiracies instead of 25 years later.
The problem with playing it today is that Reality, while less Cyberpunk in theme still. Provides a better backdrop of corrupt shadow governements trying to rule the world than what Deus Ex can provide.
What the hell does a DE offer over reality pushing the rotting corpse of FJB on us?
Or a depopulation drug hidden under the guise of a vaccine.....
