Regardless I actually ain't going to be buying it now after I found out how easy it is to backup the files from my old game cd. :)
Don't forget to download updated video engines' dlls if you don't want to have any problems with your GPU : http://www.cwdohnal.com/utglr/ (OGL) or http://kentie.net/article/d3d10drv/ (Dx10)
Sort of. That's what exactly I did.
- Apply the first 2 steps of following tutorial:
https://steamcommunity.com/app/6910/discussions/0/613936673444809191/
- Delete OpenGlDrv.dll file in System folder and extract OpenGLDrv.dll from dxglr21.zip to System folder.
http://www.cwdohnal.com/utglr/
- Apply the lastest retail patch of the game. If that does not work, simply extract DeusEx.exe from DeusExMPPatch1112fm.exe to System folder.

- Change the renderer of the game into OpenGL.
- If the game is too fast or too slow, you may need to set your CPU into "performance" mode before starting the game. Depending your distro, you may add an applet called cpufreq-applet in your taskbar.

You are ready to go. Just run DeusEx.exe via WINE. Actually you do not even need Steam via Wine to download game files. SteamCMD works fine to download game files.

Thats pretty much all I needed to know as it's a issue emulating wine AND steam just to play deus ex.
Sorry I made this topic almost a year ago and I havent been following it much, thanks for the info on steamcmd; it's going to come in handy :)
