Deus Ex: Game of the Year Edition

Deus Ex: Game of the Year Edition

Crash at startup - Sound problems?
I tried everything. From simple compatibility mode to downloading Deus Exe Launcher from kentie.net. Also editing DeusEx.ini for some tweaks... It still crashes.
I understood that the problem is somehow connected to sound. If I start the game in compatibility mode with sound and 3d sound off - it starts fine. Need a little help here... :C

You tried altering the latency option in Kentie's launcher?

3D sound needs specialized hardward if I remember correctly, could be that.

I tried 40(standart), 60 and 100... Nothing works.

But if you keep 3D sound off it works? I have both 3D and Dolby Surround off since I don't have the hardware for that. It tends sound really weird if you have surround sound enabled but only have stereo speakers available.

If I start "safe mode" with settings like this - it works.

But turning off ONLY 3D sound still crashes.

If you open up Kentie's launcher, press DeusEx.ini in the bottom right corner and then go down to [Galaxy.GalaxyAudioSubsystem] and replace that section with this, save the file, press exit and then relaunch the game normally, does that work?

[Galaxy.GalaxyAudioSubsystem]

Nope. Still crash... Looks like it's something wrong with my sound card drivers. Coz when I tried to record some gameplay of Contagion with Shadowplay... No sound recorded, only video :\
But still, if anyone has other possible ways to fix - I'm all ears.

P.s. Thx MrRobotBear for trying to help :)

Yeah, I'd try updating your sound scard drivers, or at least reinstall them. Do you have a dedicated sound card or an integrated one?

Might be a good idea of checking your hard drive as well as hard drive issues can result in all sorts of weirdness. I'd recommend SpinRite but it's a bit pricy, try going with a simple chkdsk /R and then later a sfc /scannow.
