Can I ask what part of GMDX you dislike? Because I enjoy GMDX quite much. I have played through vanilla Deus Ex 4 times.

I didn't like how the AI had aimbot sometimes and were too aware, IK the point is to improve it but this is way too unbalanced, also i prefer vanilla weapon models, mantelling is cool but kinda makes legs somewhat useless in areas, some areas that have been changed i'm not a fan of such as the paris city, it has a super fast robot that zips around and if it sees you for like 2 secs then it launches missles at you i mean jeez. But by the far the one that annoyed me the most is the Cathedral map, this is my fav level and i love sneaking around it however i really, really struggled to do it stealth because there are like 5 security bots patrolling around with little cover and they spotted me sooo easily wayy faster than vanilla and darkness doesn't seem to do anything in terms of being detected. The only part that i objectively like about the mod is the weapon sounds, i love the meaty punch of them and tbh hitmarkers make that even more satisfyinh

I agree with you, i prefer Vanilla over GMDX

I think almost anyone will enjoy the higher resolution texture and sound effects.

As an exploration freak, I enjoy mantelling very much and find it complements with leg aug well rather than demeaning it. With mantelling and leg aug 3 you can get to hidden spots which couldn't be reached otherwise, and get to places without using lockpicks or multitools. Another fun usage is jump and mantelling onto the roof of some high building and leave enemies clueless. :)

My last run is a build specialized in stealth, I never found I have issue to go stealthy. The trick is to use high ground, again mantellng and leg aug helps a lot.

The only thing off might be the AI aimbot which imposes fatality to melee or close range builds.

I agree it encourages exploration but i just think it makes it to easy in my opinion, and for better visuals i either play revision or just put new vision on, and tbh the stealth attribute as much as it makes you faster it didn't seem to affect how enemy's detected me and that was annoying

Revision is worse in the sense it modifies the original map and also its visual packages are mixed with inconsistent styles.

I wouldn't say the styles are inconsistent and yeh i agree they do change the maps but thats the point of the mod, just fleshing it out more i mean the Cathedral level in vanilla is just a cathedral tucked away but in revision there's a big road and river you have to cross which i think is relaly cool, the lighting and colours are amazing. Yes it changes the original but thats the point, the original always exists but this is just a nice new way to replay and lets be honest achievements, survival mode, challeneges and all the amazing modifiers just make the package amazing

Also how Revision has loads of gameplay options such as biomod and shifter which are all optional

IMO level design of Dues EX is top notch, that's why I'm hesitating with any mod modifying it. Surely this is a personal flavor thing. I might give it a try someday just for some freshness.

yeh dont get me wrong the level design is just amazing, i love the oppressive nature of vanilla visuals but revision gives it a bit more flavour, both ways are great imo
