How to make a Deus Ex Mod?

I have never made a mod before and I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer when it comes to the technical nitty-gritty of gaming but I feel inspired to create something for Deus Ex after seeing what can be achieved with this classic game. It could be good fun to try something different as opposed to playing. Some of the mods that I have seen have been absolutely fantastic and a phoenominal accomplishment by individuals and small groups alike.

How do I start off with such a thing and any tips/tricks on how to create something simple as a starting point?

Start by installing Deus Ex, then install Kentie's latest launcher and lastly install the Deus Ex Editing Pack.

There is some documentation that came along with the Editng Pack (I think), some of it's in russian though. You should read up on some tutorials here: http://www.dx-revision.com/website/tutorials/

If you find yourself struggling with the technical side of things (you will), I suggest writing some fan fiction or creating some Deus Ex art to contribute to the community.
