Edit: Also funny enough, I refunded the game as i was planning on getting it from GoG but Steam just left the game on my pc. So i guess i just get to keep it for free
I'm guessing it's just been overlooked, there are thousands of games on steam, they can't be expected to get it right all the time.
And yea if you still have the game folder you can still play it... But you will have to replace your deusex.exe with something like kenties launcher or an executable from the non steam version because the original (the one that came with steam version) has been tampered with by steam to try and prevent things like this from happening.
