The combat is jank, and people insist it's the greatest game ever but it consists of confrontations with dull samey soldiers.

I can't say it's terrible either has some good stuff but as highly praised as I'm reading constantly? Did they play Morrowind or system shock1/2?

But it's not like this story in 1 is high literature.

In hong Kong and it don't make no sense even in a jank 90s way. Go up to a nice and clean looking Asian restaurant. Go up stairs and there's 3 rats clustered together right in the room with patrons? It's a huge immersion break. Not that this game hasn't been janky immersion break one after another. But they ain't even gonna go pluck a cat off the street and take it up there? And it's a racist stereotype as well. Is this just a trope from the 90s? Duh huh huh huh rats, I mean it's insulting to the gamers intelligence just gonna have 3 pet rats running around a restaurants eating center? The rooms really small too and someone could easily skewer these rats. Rats don't even run off and get to cover like they are idle pets.

This is coming from someone who loves system shock 1, even more than 2. There's no excuse, it's not cause it's dated. It's cause they made poor choices and told a story in the most uncaring way. Uncaring as in, eidos didn't even care what made sense in Deus ex. I get it old-school gamer jank charm.

I mean I like the mechanics in Deus 1 and the tech but this storyline is bad IDC who loves it, it has no direction and the characters are not compelling at all. And there's many just what the hell moments that don't even make sense. Like rats just hanging out with patrons in a cluster? Cause it's China? Man that's offensive.

There's more rats clustered on this one room than the slums and gutters how does this make any sense?
