Both are the close the original, with improvements. They're better.
What do you want from us then? To tell you to go play something else? To have an argument with you? Or do you need help with something?
If it is your first time playing I suggest playing vanilla just with DX10 renderer so it runs fine on modern PCs. Let me know if you need help.
allright, i'll get it a shot and then i'll tell you the results, appreciate it.
Nothing, it's just you didn't give much to work with here except that it's dark and a disappointment... Firstly, how dark are we talking here, just dark in general or does it look like the brightness slider has been locked to the darkest setting.. Have you tried the brightness slider in game? Have you tried a different renderer?
And secondly, what do you want us to do about the "wacky" gameplay? Is this wackyness comparable to vanilla deus ex, or is it just because of the mod? Have you tried vanilla deus ex without mods? What do you mean by "wacky"? You watched videos, and say it's a disappointment.. Is this the video or
only something with your game specifically thats disappointing? And why? because of the darkness? Is the game running different from what you have seen on YouTube?.. Why is it wacky and why is it comparable to revision? What's wacky about revision? Excuse me if I just took that as your complaining about it rather than asking for help, but wacky could mean anything at this point.
As for the crashes, can't really help you there, dx is over 20 years old, and your playin a heavily modded game.. Unless it's specific to something your doing at the time, there's not much I can help with here other than suggest try a different renderer.. gmdx comes with direct3d10, maybe try 9 or opengl: https://www.cwdohnal.com/utglr/

Then while in game:
(While in game type T and when the box pops up delete what's in there and type preferences. Go to the renderer settings at the bottom and click on dx11 renderer and change to these settings)
