Deus Ex: Game of the Year Edition

tried GMDX
Dissapointing mod, i've seen some videos on it but its literally a dissapointment for me.

darkness as hell on the game, you have to change the graphics card brightness on your screen, the gameplay fells wacky "yes compared to revision", not even mentioning the random crashes.

GMDX and Revision are great.
Both are the close the original, with improvements. They're better.

i know but the shame is that for some godamn reason i cannot make it run properly on deus ex, another piece of fresh enhancement that i cant enjoy for some reason

What do you want from us then? To tell you to go play something else? To have an argument with you? Or do you need help with something?

Hey Shadow! Make sure you download GMDX v10, not v9. Much closer to vanilla in terms of gameplay with improved textures and models. Models you can select which ones you want to be HD or not.

If it is your first time playing I suggest playing vanilla just with DX10 renderer so it runs fine on modern PCs. Let me know if you need help.

Nothing, it's just you didn't give much to work with here except that it's dark and a disappointment... Firstly, how dark are we talking here, just dark in general or does it look like the brightness slider has been locked to the darkest setting.. Have you tried the brightness slider in game? Have you tried a different renderer?

And secondly, what do you want us to do about the "wacky" gameplay? Is this wackyness comparable to vanilla deus ex, or is it just because of the mod? Have you tried vanilla deus ex without mods? What do you mean by "wacky"? You watched videos, and say it's a disappointment.. Is this the video or
only something with your game specifically thats disappointing? And why? because of the darkness? Is the game running different from what you have seen on YouTube?.. Why is it wacky and why is it comparable to revision? What's wacky about revision? Excuse me if I just took that as your complaining about it rather than asking for help, but wacky could mean anything at this point.

As for the crashes, can't really help you there, dx is over 20 years old, and your playin a heavily modded game.. Unless it's specific to something your doing at the time, there's not much I can help with here other than suggest try a different renderer.. gmdx comes with direct3d10, maybe try 9 or opengl: https://www.cwdohnal.com/utglr/

The crashes may be because gmdx uses biomod which sometimes crashes the game during area transitions because it autosaves the game during that time. I know this because I use biomod by itself and it does that usually up until chinatown then the crashes go away, probably about 3-4 crashes per playthrough and always in the same spots. Also, just use dx11 I 've been using it for like 90 hours and it's been fine. Had better performance with it than the dx10 renderer because dx10 has always given shoddy performance ever since it released 15 years ago. Once installed make sure you change the renderer to Directx 3D 11 Support in the configure section in the games launcher. and hit apply. (the mod is below, the instructions to install is right underneath the download in the description of the mod page, don't worry about the normal and height maps instructions you don't need to download those)

https://www.moddb.com/mods/unreal-directx11-renderer-for-ut-ug-rune-and-dx/downloads/unreal-directx11-renderer-for-utugrune-hp12-st-cbu-and-dx

Then while in game:
(While in game type T and when the box pops up delete what's in there and type preferences. Go to the renderer settings at the bottom and click on dx11 renderer and change to these settings)
