Deus Ex: Game of the Year Edition

Deus Ex: Game of the Year Edition

Similar OST's?
I really like the Deus Ex OST.
Alexander Brandon's entire catalog is quite good, but I have listened to it all.

Anybody have any recommendations?

Wouldn't mind more ambient 'exploration' type music for one playlist, more 'driven' tracks will go on an action playlist.

Thanks in advance!

Max Quayle done the TV show Mr. Robot which has some great themes. Also a masterpiece of a show starring Rami Malek and Christian Slater. Not cyberpunk but Tech Noir, conspiracies and revolution.

There's a whole database full of tracker music, alot of which have a similar feel to the old unreal engine games.. It's just a matter of finding the tracks you like, just do a google search for screamtracker and fasttracker music.

As for some electronic ambient music as a genre.. I really enjoy the works of Tangerine Dream, especially their albums from the 70s.. They are also responsible for the background music in gta v... May or may not be what your looking for but I won't pass up the opportunity to broaden someone's repertoire.

Perhaps try some of the composers who also worked with him on Deus Ex / other projects he was involved with.

Alexander Brandon also worked on Hedon, an old-school FPS. Maybe wanna check that as well.

Heres another.. Jean Michel Jarre, the 3 albums Oxygène, Équinoxe and Les Chants Magnétiques are well worth the listen.

And just to throw another name out there Mike Oldfield is worth a mention, Tubular Bells 1 2 and 3 are fantastic, then theres the more recent stuff going into the electronic music direction.. not quite your unreal engine style music, but I would quite happily put it in my ambient playlist.

Hawkwind are heading towards your action playlist, the genre is space rock.. give them a listen too.

Oh and cant forget Ozric Tentacles either, lots of stuff there that has alot of unreal games vibes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QTEN5Fnnbek

Hey Mojo :) Thanks again for the help.

Mike Oldfield is great! I would not have correlated him with A Brandon, but now that you have mentioned it, I can see why you might.

I'll happily check out JMJ! Thanks for the suggestions!
