Deus Ex: Game of the Year Edition

Deus Ex: Game of the Year Edition

The best mod for this game?
I'm looking for something that enhances the graphics. But I don't want it to change the music, or add/change certain things in the game. So I don't want Deus Ex Revision.

So, what is the best mod for that?

GMDX. Best mod that overhaul the vanilla mechanics. And if you have already beaten the original campaign, try The Nameless mod.

2027 is also pretty cool

But I hope it doesn't change the original so much so that the game does not work in the same principle. I mean, making AI better is okay
but I hope they did not add new things.

check the gmdx site. It has all the info you need for making a decision.
Get 2027 and nameless mod if you want something fresh that isn't any of the sequals or prequals

I have not played GMDX yet, but i read a lot about it on their site.
From what i have understood the mod changes countless number of things
BUT
the devs try to stick to spirit and principle behind the vanilla game as much as possible.
So yeah the game is harder, but in a way it could be if the devs would be able to do it.
Anyway - i mean that modding th Deus Ex with GMDX will not corrupt gameplay in a way that would change the gameplay in other way than the game goes.

TL:DR don't be afraid. The mod changes a lot but changes go with the Deus Ex spirit not twisting things in wrong direction.

PS: I will try it in December, because newest version is announced to be released then.

damn that when you said it, I wonder if I should postpone my playthrough to that time as well. damn me for being so perfectionist when it comes to mods.

That GMDX mod sucks. My steam is in D: and the game cannot even open. I don't have to do a bunch of complicated stuff that I don't even care about to my own computer in order to get this useless crap working, if they cannot make the mod be able to detect steam on it's own, then that just means it's not good enough and a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ mod. Next.

2027 mate, or if you want an easy graphics overhaul get the revsion mod that is on steam

I need to experience the original story first, not some other story.

A question about Deus Ex revision: is it possible to restore the old music / switch between them while you are playing? Does it improve on the AI like GMDX does? If it doesn't, is it compatible with some of the other AI enhancing mods?
Least important and might sound stupid but still: is there a sub-mod that restores the authentic chinese texts in hong kong? (the revision mod makes them all gibberish)

On the other hand, if there's someone who have played the both, could you make an elaborate comparison between them that also lists what the one has and the other one is missing?
