Heres a link to the enhanced opengl renderer, if your not already using it, Id recommend this over the one that comes with the game: https://www.cwdohnal.com/utglr/ (under latest news theres a version 2.1 for deus ex, get that one)
If that doesnt fix your problem, theres always the direct3d10 and 11 renderers (kentie.net for 10 and moddb for 11), that will make the game look "fancy" with some post processing effects and "better" lighting, it doesnt usually yield the best performance in my experience, and you might wanna tweak some settings for dx11 in the deusex.ini like disabling the tessellation features which make objects look round.
Edit: my game ended up freezing on me so i'm beginning to get upset as anything i like ends up having some issue so i'm not sure what to do here.
Read the description for all the features.. Im just suggesting you give them a try and see if it makes the game run better for you, every pc is different, the game is a little finicky sometimes.
Also, make sure you have 32bit color enabled in the launcher configuration, and fps limit to 120, the game doesnt bode well with high framerates. And try switching between fullscreen or borderless window, that may or may not fix the mouse cursor issue
In the launcher, click the deusex.ini link at the bottom right... should open with notepad or something.. scroll down to [D3D11Drv.D3D11RenderDevice] and set VSync=True... that will fix screen tearing, at the cost of a little bit of mouse lag
also, make sure Tesselation=False
as for lighting, its a dark game... screenshot if you can and Ill let you know if it really is too dark
UPDATE: Oops, I ment [D3D10Drv.D3D10RenderDevice]... also tesselation doesnt matter in 10 so dont worry about that setting unless your using 11
UPDATE2: Oh and you might wanna set ClassicLighting=True, thatll get rid of those pesky post processing effects... Unless you like that sort of thing, might make it a bit brighter too
What about the Direct3D9 renderer? I'm having a issue where the characters are phasing out and i can show you a screenshot if need be. I want to have another renderer for backup and i do like the Direct3D9 renderer so i would greatly appreciate any help.
Here is the link to the screenshot so i don't confuse the issue.
Thats not direct3d9... thats just direct3d that came with the game.. try the direct3d9 renderer from here: https://www.cwdohnal.com/utglr/
No probs, glad to help :)
