One; In Kentie's launcher, increase the HUD size.
Two; Increasing the windows dpi scaling (I can't confirm if this'll work or not though.)
Just know that you've missed one of the greatest video games of the past 20 years (Many debate of all time for that matter) because you can't be bothered to do a little research, look at one of the many wonderful guides on here, and you know.. Mod your game a little.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Some old games, like Gothic 1 or 2, Beyond Good and Evil, older resident evils or silent hills are totally playable and enjoyable. But games like system shock, deus ex, fallout 1/2, baldur's gate - no way.
But later levels get better, you should check them on YouTube. For example, Hong Kong is my favorite level, as it feels most alive in the game.
Not everybody has to like everything. This is why we have big selection of games for everybody.
For example, in my opinion classic Fallouts (1 and 2) are one of best rpgs, but still bad games, as they are very unbalanced, force you into combat even when you try playing as pacifist, enemies can suddenly insta kill you even if you have best equipment, etc... But lots of people instead love everything about these games (unbalanced combat included).
But I went little off topic there.
I wish the surround sound would work, though...
There is this: https://www.oldunreal.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1399614715
Its an alternative sound driver, it might work for surround, but I havent looked into it... Might be of interest to you though.
download link is at the top of the thread, installation is just like the updated renderers Im sure you've been acquainted with by now (extract files into deus ex/system folder). Just replace AudioDevice=Galaxy.GalaxyAudioSubsystem with AudioDevice=ALAudio.ALAudioSubsystem in your deusex.ini file.
Im enjoying it in 2019, but I also enjoy seeing the history of programming. This game really is a huge stepping stone in our history of video games. You just gotta be able to see past many many flaws. It was ahead of its time, but still limited by the technology being relatively new.
This game is not as unplayable as some, but it is VERY difficult to get started in 2019. It took me a lot of dedication, and willpower. The beginning is beyond confusing, and the transitions of both the cut-scenes and the loading screens are terrible. But its far ahead of its time enough to still be fun in 2019 for the first time.
My goal is to play this then immediately play invisible war because I always wanted to see why people disliked invisible war. I loved it when it came out, but i never played the original.
