I changed following parameters in DeusEx.ini:

FullscreenViewportX=1920
FullscreenViewportY=1080

[Bleurei]

But that would make the hud extremely small.

Thanks dude. I've used Kentie's plenty in the past. Right now I'm playing vanilla, but I don't mind changing just the resolution.

This launcher allows you to play the vanilla game, but you get much less crashes and a steady 60 fps all the way.

Yes, but I would highly recommend you also grab the direct3d9 or opengl renderer for deus ex for better compatibility with modern hardware: https://www.cwdohnal.com/utglr/

and in the deusex.ini under [Engine.Engine]
GameRenderDevice=D3D9Drv.D3D9RenderDevice or OpenGLDrv.OpenGLRenderDevice

The launcher is also still valid today, and would highly recommend, and the direct3d10 renderer also resides here: kentie.net

I tried this but it wouldnt work.

When I opened the game and tried to change the resolution to 1920x1080, it acted like the game was zoomed in.

just get the dx10 renderer from kentie and you'll be fine.
in graphics settings you can change render devices (game restarts) from direct3d to direct3Dx10

I installed the kentie patch but it just crashes on launch
