Remake?
Just throwing it out here, do people want a remake treatment like Yakuza, RE2 etc rather than a remaster?

I can see from your games list that you know revision exists. It's a developer endorsed remake. Idk what else people would want, it doesn't need another.

I know, its more like a remaster, i was talking about a complete remake from the ground up, in Dawn or UE4 engine.

I believe there are two fanmade UE4 remake projects in the works.

I know what you're talking about, it's just not gonna happen and doesn't need to happen. Especially since revision does the same thing. It's a remake that already exists.

Lol y'all are so glued to the original it's eye-rolling. Tis the season for remakes and a current gen remake in the style of Human Revolution/Mankind Divided wouldn't ruin your precious classic.

I loved Revision but a new school remake of the original would be everything right about now.

Give Me Deus Ex (GMDX): Makes the maps more realistic, AI smarter than a Roomba, reworks Augs in a Human Revolution/Mankind Divided way. Still uses the same engine though.

Id play it if it was remade. I keep on trying to get into this one because I loved invisible war when I was a teenager. The m/kb only controls, the lack of graphics, and the insanely small text keep on making me uninstall every time I try to play this one. I would pay 60 for a real remake.

A lot of games have been getting real remakes lately. Hopefully that becomes more common so the consumers can start forcing the devs to start putting in some thought into making their new games instead of mass crowd-pleasing. everything is so generic these days I am turned off from video gaming

Did no one pay attention at the end of Deus Ex Human Revolution, they basically flat out stated that they are doing a remake of the original game, by the Bob Page video, which flat out links to the intro video for the original Deus Ex. The only way it could have been more obvious is if they had put some kind of “Coming ‘Year’”
They won’t do it until they are definitely done with the Jenson arc though, be it that only leaves about 20 years after the events of Mankind Divided (Set about 2029) before the events at the start of Deus Ex (Set about 2052). So at best we’d be talking 1 maybe 2 at a push, more games before it, if not the next one being Deus Ex!

Revision is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awful though.

It's so incompetent that they managed to ♥♥♥♥ up the directions to things NPCs give you, so someone will tell you how to reach an objective and it'll be wrong because these ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ moved it and didn't realize that makes the quest impossible. Good job, idiots

Give the guys some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ credit, on the whole they’ve done a fantastic job revitalising the game. A few glitches with things being changed are kind of expected, if you think you can do better then release something yourself, if not then stop being so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ offensive to people who are revitalising the game, IN THEIR OWN TIME and making NO profit from it!

DXIW is controller compatible with slight tweaking if you look it up, it was designed for PC & console and released at the same time. If you look online it’s fairly easy to set up, from what I can remember!

DX was ported to PS2 shortly after release and is again convertible much the same way as IW, if you have a look round again. Admittedly it does still need at least a game board due to the amount of buttons, but most of it is doable on controller.

I feel alot of the charm of the visuals would go away.

Thing is, I have been thinking about it...
I believe that the game is great but it certainly hasn't aged well, Wondering how the game would look like if it was remade from the ground up, I believe it could be something great and maybe they'd win another GOTY award, who knows.
Sure they're not innovating, however I feel like sometimes you have to go back to origins before going any further.

Also (Probably overextending myself here) I'd love to be able to pinpoint the connection between Adam Jensen and JC Denton.

Well, if Revision is not enough of a remake for you, you can keep an eye on Reborn's progress: https://www.moddb.com/mods/deus-ex-reborn1

(the page had last updated this March, but their discord and the home forum page are more active, and the work certainly is in progress)

The idea sat with me for some time and it's not gonna happen. After playing the RE and Yakuza remakes and C2077 on the brink one can wonder if this got the same treatment, not only it would be so awesome for us fans, it might bring back life to immersive sims again.

But if CDPR could run into trouble with all their budget and freedom, no way anyone else can do it, let alone Square Enix. Sure, the pandemic and working on 9 versions in this critical time can be blamed, but i think it was their fault thinking they can pull it off. Square Enix west on the other hand clearly showed where their priority is at with the Avengers, so a remake might not be possible.

We have a sequel pending and we don't even know if they are even considering that.
Dixon Sider Jan 1, 2021 @ 9:55am
The RE remakes are not the remakes to look at for something like this. Think Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, MediEvil, and Tony Hawk. Those were remakes done well. Almost nothing has changed but the graphics.
