What renderer are you using?

Because you have to to select one in the setup window. Also search the from for "brightness", there are plenty of threads on this topic.

If your renderer is Direct3D, that’s probably why. Download the OpenGL renderer from here: http://www.cwdohnal.com/utglr/

Or try the "modern" direct3d10 renderer: http://kentie.net/article/d3d10drv/

Also, use Kenties launcher of your not already: http://kentie.net/article/dxguide/

OpenGL all the way! If you happen to play Minecraft before, you have it installed already and can select it in install menu!

Minecraft has nothing to do with the opengl renderer Deus ex uses, you need to download and install one of the renderers mentioned above.

I see no Gamma Settings in Options while in the game. Is this a setting that only is offered during the setup? I don't recall seeing it.

Also, where do you install the OpenGLDrv.dll file ?

LTR......I used OpenGL as the renderer and its working fine now. No need to install something new nor to search for the mystrerious "Gamma Setting".

Here, allow me to point it out for you: https://www.dropbox.com/s/4rnf5eheami29is/Screenshot%202018-03-12%2006.17.39.png?dl=0

You put the OpenGLDrv.dll in the system folder of your deus ex directory, replace the old one.

I apologize for not being precise:
Launch the game : Go to "Settings>Display>Adjust Brightness"

You will see the brightness slider and example of colors and shades below
adjust the slider to your liking

Idk how it would work on your device bot for me it works as intended i have slider set to 60.0 and i don't have brightness problems ingame

And to add to that, if the brightness setting doesnt do anything, and your running the game in borderless/window, then switch to fullscreen from the launcher options.

You are right! Fullscreen is essential for this to work.

Thanks for everybodys' input. I differentiate between a Gamma Setting and a Brightness Setting. They aren't the same thing. I easily found the Brightness Setting. I could not find the Gamma Setting.

Thats because there is no gamma setting, its just the brightness, the other poster made a mistake on that one. If you want to change gamma, you'll need to do it in your graphics card control panel, but that shouldnt be neccessary to just make the game brighter.
