Getting modded textures to work with the DX11 renderer?
I'm using the Kentie DX11 renderer because it fixes some things over the DX10 renderer (for instance coronas work properly) http://kentie.net/article/d3d11drv/index.htm

I'm also using this texture mod which for some reason requires the DX10 renderer and doesn't work with the DX11 one: https://www.moddb.com/mods/new-vision/news/new-vision-20a

Does anyone know how to get those textures working in DX11?

the dx11 renderer is just a direct port of the dx10 renderer, theres no difference so theres no point in using it, if anything its unoptimized.

Also coronas should work fine with the dx10 renderer. Perhaps try renaming your deusex.ini file to something else and run the game again so that it resets back to defaults?

as for the texture issue, are you using kenties launcher, and have new vision ticked in the data directories menu?

also... the direct3d10 renderer is newer... http://www.kentie.net/article/d3d10drv/changelog.txt (dx11 is a port of version 8 of dx10)

Thanks for replying. I tried resetting the .ini like you suggested but it didn't work. Here's what I'm seeing:

DX10 (had to use my phone since the game wouldn't take screens in DX10 mode for some reason):

DX11:

As you can see the coronas in DX10 are completely broken. DX10 also has an overall colder color tint to it, and in some areas the fps is worse than DX11.

As for selecting New Vision 2.0a in Kentie launcher, it doesn't show up. You just drag and drop the files into the game directory and they override the old textures. They work fine in DX10 but they don't work at all in DX11. I noticed they're in .dds format unlike New Vision 1 which is .utx, so maybe that has something to do with it.

-edit, I just tested the coronas again and for some reason they work fine in other levels, it's just Liberty Island that has a problem.

Looks like dx10 has classic lighting enabled, which is why the coronas look super bright... easy fix, just open your deusex.ini from the bottom right link of kenties launcher, find [D3D10Drv.D3D10RenderDevice] and set ClassicLighting=True

as for your new vision conundrum, like I said before, the dx11 renderer is a port of version 8 of dx10 renderer.... if you look at the changelog link I sent, youll find that dds texture override support was added in version 12... So if you really want dx11 for some reason, install new vision 1.5 instead: https://www.moddb.com/mods/new-vision/downloads/new-vision-15

Ah, so that's why the override isn't working in DX11. Thanks for the help. For now I'll stick with DX11 since I'm getting weird performance issues with the DX10 renderer.

Did you set ClassicLighting=True for D3D10? that should fix performance issues, could also set VSync to false which should remove any mouse lag and lastly Precache=True might help aswell.

Have you tried either of the enhanced opengl or direct3d9 renderers from here: https://www.cwdohnal.com/utglr/

Youll have much better performace, and everything will look the way it should, and New vision 1.5 will work just fine with it too.

Yeah I actually tried those renderers a couple days ago and they worked fine. It's just DX10 that gives me trouble for some reason. Even with classic lighting enabled and all the fancy effects turned off I still get bad fps.
