Yes, use Kentie's launcher for proper widescreen support without fiddling:

If you don't want the hassle of extraneous programs, just tweak the setting in your ini file. ctrl-f with the keywords fullscreen and/or windowed should be enough to track down the relevant section/setting

If you're happy with that fix, that's fine, but I really recommend kentie's launcher like someone else suggested. It is easy to install and has other neat features

Sweet. Easy To do in Notepad. Thanks a lot.
Much better for me than installing another application on my PC.

You should also adjust the FOV when changing the resolution like that: http://www.wsgf.org/dr/deus-ex

"Installing" (just throwing an open source replacement exe into the system folder of Deus Ex) Kentie's launcher is still the way to go if you want a smooth experience as many other problems with the game are fixed.

fyi you need kenties d3D10 renderer or you'll have missing lights in the game making it almost unplayable. but thats quite easy - just extract the files then change render device ingame

Well thats not true... Directx10 renderer does attempt to add some form of post processing fx, but it doesnt look right at all, it can make things look too saturated with light... There are 3 renderers you can consider:
Direct3d10: http://kentie.net/article/d3d10drv/
Enhanced Opengl or Direct3d9: http://www.cwdohnal.com/utglr/

wtf? if you use original renderer then the game has missing dynamic lights and its pitch black in parts. you need d3d10 (or any of the others mentioned)

you good with that statement, yes??

calm down.. your talking about the old outdated renderers that came with the game, so obviously your going to have some trouble using them with a modern graphics card, but they DO support dynamic lighting, even the software renderer supports it.. that was the whole appeal of the unreal engine in the first place was its use of dynamic and coloured lighting.

I never dismissed the d3d10 renderer as a choice... But it doesnt look true to the original game unless bClassicLighting is enabled, unlike the other enhanced renderers d3d9 and opengl.

I'm trying to do that (exactly that) and now the title screen is out of place (To the top right)
How do I fix it without downloading anything?

I wish people would stop advertising Kenties, it breaks things in the game!

You should use hans launcher, its way better and causes zero issues.

Can be found in our datacube channel at DXHQ :p

You need an updated renderer to run in higher resolutions, I linked them a few posts back
