Deus Ex: Game of the Year Edition

Deus Ex: Game of the Year Edition

Shaky Sniper Scope
Whenever I use the sniper scope, it's way too shaky to aim properly.
I think I remember there was a way to steady it in the tutorial, but I can't remember how. I looked at the keyboard bindings in the options menu, but I still couldn't find anything.

Damn. I never really liked that about certain games. Can it really be called "skill" if the game itself is making a weapon less difficult to use via leveling up weapons?

It's the skill of your character that needs leveling up, mixed with your aiming skills yourself. It's an RPG and that's how they work. It's better than magically making your weapons do more damage when you level up and not having a minigun's entire ammo deposit wasted into someones head with a dog for a hat at low levels not having them die (Fallout New Vegas).

In the tutorial, they "artificially" increased your skill with the rifle (and they stated they were doing this), so that you could get a sense for how the game mechanics worked.

The sniper rifle, along with other weapons, is worthwhile. If that is the weapon you want to use, then you need to put some points into it.

You could just do the "allskills" cheat :)

Which would totally and utterly ruin any sense of progression in this game and make it incredibly easy and not only that ruin the entire point of this game as an RPG.

Your saying you can't enjoy deus ex just as much with maxed out skills? I know what you mean, but there are soo many more elements to the game that keep it just as much enjoyable without the skill progression. It's still cheating, sure, but it's a good step down from godmode. I don't believe it ruins the progression of the game though.. Depends on how you like to play though I suppose.

One isn't doing a new player any favours by suggesting that they use a cheat code when playing this game for the first time.

I never really liked RPG's anyway, I'm only playing this game because of its unique world

A new player can play however he likes, and if that new player doesn't want to play with RPG elements like the skill system, then I'm happy to suggest a way around that... One isn't doing anyone any favours by holding back information that could otherwise answer op's question, so stick that gaming pride of yours where it's actually wanted.

Yea, don't tell me how to play.

Increase your Rifle weapons skill.

+1 ADD
Ancient argument. No need to restart it.

Rifle skill affects wavering during zoom, but if you let the reticle contract all the way, the wavering eventually starts to get less pronounced (at any skill). It won't disappear completely unless you are a master at the skill.
