OpenGL wasn't on the list,so I had to choose 'show all devices', and chose opengl and bam, instant game lol
For anyone else, don't forget to show all devices IF openGL isn't listed, or you'll get a nasty surprise like I did .

Try to use the search function next time. :) It's one of the most common questions around here.
I figured it out myself in short order, YAY me.
this just replaces your deusex.exe file, with a modified one that brings up a menu before starting the game to allow you to change your resolution to whatever you want, and easily change the renderer, and the gui scaling for higher resolutions... Id say its a must for running deus ex using your native resolution with ease, as it also corrects the fov.
the other things id suggest is the enhanced opengl renderer: http://www.cwdohnal.com/utglr/
If your a fan of opengl like me, then id definately give that one a go, its just an easy replacement for the one thats in the deusex/system folder.. but resort to it if you have any trouble with the existing one.
Otherwise, glad you got it working :)
Ty so much for all the interesting references I"ll have a look at renderrer as well.
ty :)
