Cant adjust brightness? (Windows 10)
I never had any problems on previous editions of windows, but it seem on my new machine with windows 10 on it, I can't adjust the brightness. Using the brighness sliders seems to have no effect at all and the game is way to dark the way it is now. Anyone else having the same problem?

Use the DirectX10 renderer.

Ok, will try it. Thanks

You can try using Kentie's Launcher which might have more options for render choices than the standard Deus Ex one which might only have a few

The standard launcher will show all available renderers, there's an option for it... But kenties is definitely a good idea anyway, there's also the opengl and directx 9 renderers that are worth a try, a quick Google search for "deus ex opengl" should suffice, their both on the same website.

If you've got a DirectX10 card it's by far the best to go with the DirectX 10 renderer. OpenGL looks a lot worse and has terrible mouse input.

Well yea, dx10 is always the first option... but just in case, theres other options aswell.

Terrible mouse input? Ive never had that with the opengl renderer, so long as vsync and mouse acceleration is off, it should be fine, but it all depends on your gfx card. Just because the card can support dx10, doesnt always mean its the best option. My 280x ran better with the enhanced opengl renderer, but it supports dx10 fine.. That been said, my current card, gtx 1060, runs nicely with dx10 and thats what I use now.

As for how worse it looks, Im assuming your talking about the extra post processing effects added by the dx10 renderer that arent supported by the dx9 and opengl renderers? I could really care less about that eye candy... new vision adds just enough visual appeal to keep the game visually pleasing, and opengl supports it if it has to come to using that renderer.

No the added bloom is the worst thing on this planet. OpenGL just doesn't look anywhere near as good DirectX. OpenGL has bad mouse input even with all that turned off. I guess some people just don't notice it, lucky you. Any card should be able to run DirectX10 smoothly. The 280x is a terrible card and incredibly out of date so that's why it ran worse. Any new computer, even the cheapest, should run this smoothly with DirectX10. You'd be hard pressed to find something that can't on todays market.
Doesn't matter, I thought you were saying those were better than DirectX10 is all.

Every pc is different, and not to mention the monitor your using, which can also effect mouse lag. So I guess your just unlucky enough to have a setup that experiences such bad mouse input :P

I dont know where you got that idea, I was merely suggesting an alternative.

mmm, I agree.. It can be a bit much sometimes, especially in the mod zodiac, on the first mission theres a building with a white roof, sculpture... thing.. anyway, blindingly white using dx10 with bloom enabled.

The monitor doesn't really effect anything unless you have GSync or FreeSync.

Yeah me neither, I misunderstood or read it wrong obviously.

The whole screen contrast going from 1 to 100 in a second just because you look at a single light is ridiculous. I don't like bloom, but whoever did this one obviously had no idea what they were doing.

Im going off subject here, but have you ever tried enb series? Looks bloody terrible in deus ex despite a good majority of people saying otherwise.
