yes, i kinda understand what you mean :)

But the problem is, Unreal Tournament already had semi-okay bots implemented compared to the stuff we have right now. Wouldnt be much fun i guess? Do you really think that would make a difference? Happy to hear arguments why we should push on adding bots. Let me know, may be here or contact me on Discord!

practicing with bots like in CS helps widening map knowledge and weapon handling. For rookie it is hard to go on server and getting shot immidiately

When the server is full, I see how it is difficult for newcomers to get into the game and the maps as the skill is quite high imo. Detailed knowledge of the maps and movement is crucial for skill. You might want to get to know the maps during the day when only few people around. Sometimes someone else joins and you will have a 1-vs-1 which is great for learning the maps even better. This will also help in general to get more players online :-)

Some of us are not into clan competitions, like me for example and we prefer to play privately for leisure. I used to have a close circle of friends back in the TO:AOT days. We would have our own private matches with 3 humans VS 20 bots in AOT. Which was great fun for us already back then.

I do get that you guys are gearing to multiplayer audience, but having decent bot support to me, is probably more important than you guys adding an extra rifle or two.

hey Patchy, thanks for letting us know! We are aiming for the online experience yes, but not only the competitive side of it. In fact we have some modes and stuff that makes public games much more fun. Let's have see what is possible with Boris, Nikita and others ;-)

What I dislike most on modern games is that they give zero attention to singleplayer, and only put effort on multiplayer.

Even tho I understand why people choose multiplayer nowadays, if TO4 did the same it would cut off a huge part of the original and nostalgic experience of TOAOT. So I honestly believe it'd be great to add practice mode and give some attention to it in the future. Of course, this is my opinion and not intended to insult the developers or anyone.

Hello, OP here.

You should add bots, because:
- there's plenty of PvE fans out there, who prefer taking on the artificial enemy together with their friends, with no pressure or stress of PvP rivalry,
- because if you suck in competitive PvP, you can still get some fun out of the game,
- because it adds variety to what you can play \ do in the game,
- because the original had them,
- because if the game's playerbase would "die", there'd be still bots you can play against.

Its the same here. I'd love to play with three friends. But 2vs2 on big maps is not fun. So we still play the old TO:AOT...

The bots can fill up lobbies and when a new player joins a lobby, a bot is removed to make space for the player. Then a player can just play against the bots until another player joins and so on.

This will mean that the game will be playable regardless of how many players there are. Many players would play the game, but don't due to not being able to find a match at any given time of day, but if bots were available and worked as I described, the people that would normally play, but hold off due to lack of players will start playing immediately and with them the overall playerbase will increase, which will attract even more players and the game will slowly prosper as a niche game.

Currently I see only 20 players peaking every day and only at certain hours, otherwise it's like 0 or 1-2 player playing, which is not good.

i loved the monster server. it was good variation. killing monsters and collecting smilys.
the said arguments are the right. bots are needed :-)
Bots are needed because there are no players

Players are there, mostly in the evening hours (European Timezones). Bots are still on our list, but certainly not on top priority, sorry
