But the problem is, Unreal Tournament already had semi-okay bots implemented compared to the stuff we have right now. Wouldnt be much fun i guess? Do you really think that would make a difference? Happy to hear arguments why we should push on adding bots. Let me know, may be here or contact me on Discord!
I do get that you guys are gearing to multiplayer audience, but having decent bot support to me, is probably more important than you guys adding an extra rifle or two.
Even tho I understand why people choose multiplayer nowadays, if TO4 did the same it would cut off a huge part of the original and nostalgic experience of TOAOT. So I honestly believe it'd be great to add practice mode and give some attention to it in the future. Of course, this is my opinion and not intended to insult the developers or anyone.
You should add bots, because:
- there's plenty of PvE fans out there, who prefer taking on the artificial enemy together with their friends, with no pressure or stress of PvP rivalry,
- because if you suck in competitive PvP, you can still get some fun out of the game,
- because it adds variety to what you can play \ do in the game,
- because the original had them,
- because if the game's playerbase would "die", there'd be still bots you can play against.
This will mean that the game will be playable regardless of how many players there are. Many players would play the game, but don't due to not being able to find a match at any given time of day, but if bots were available and worked as I described, the people that would normally play, but hold off due to lack of players will start playing immediately and with them the overall playerbase will increase, which will attract even more players and the game will slowly prosper as a niche game.
Currently I see only 20 players peaking every day and only at certain hours, otherwise it's like 0 or 1-2 player playing, which is not good.
the said arguments are the right. bots are needed :-)
Players are there, mostly in the evening hours (European Timezones). Bots are still on our list, but certainly not on top priority, sorry
