Keyboard Support
Sorry if this has been suggested, I have not checked the 642 threads.

There should be many functions tied to keys, for example
F1: Help
F2-F11: Functions like Zone Painter, Building Menu, Workers menu, etc.
Home: Center the map to the town center
Pause: Pause the game / resume game
M: Go to monk
etc., etc.
The keyboard is mostly unused.

These are all the current keys used by the game, more controls are planned though as well as a keybinds menu to customise them

keep building/part selected: Shift + Click (LMB)
toggle monument snap: T
adjust brush size: Ctrl + Mouse Wheel

remove ui: Ctrl + U
quick save: Ctrl + S

manage game speed: +/-
pause: Spacebar

close all windows: Backspace
close focused window: Esc

Camera controls

fwd/left/bkwd/right: W/A/S/D
rotate: Q/E
pitch: R/F
fast pan: Ctrl + MMB + Mouse Move

PS: what exactly would the use of a "next monk" key be? Why would you want to cycle through your monks?

Thank you for your response! I am new to the game and didn't know many of them.

M: Go to monk was not meant for monastery monks, but for the monk that visits the town hall and offers a deal. Not that important.

For me the most important key would be the Home key. This would be especially useful if resources are found far away. I then have to search my town, then move back to it (or select a worker from the list and go to it as a workaround). A bit painful either way.

Another would be Ctrl-L to quick load your last quick save.

Oh, and really, the game needs a button [Continue] at the main screen that simply loads the latest saved game. Is that not what players do most at the main screen? 😉

Very useful would be keys to toggle windows like Jobs, Villagers, Workplaces and Village. You need them all the time and the icons are so tiny....

These could be put on F1, F2, etc.

Regarding the tiny icons, you can change this. Go to Settings. Under the General tab you can change the value User Interface Scale. For some reason, when you select 2.00x it goes to 1.80x though, but still a big difference.

See on screenshot.

Yeah, I know of that and I actually had this setting for a while. On the other hand, that clutters the screen even more, so I reverted back to scale 1.0

Let's just hope that things are getting better with the new UI.

Yeah let's see what they come up with, but I don't see how they can things more visible, all screens are already very dense with information. Unless they drop information from windows, it will be the same more or less.

Keys are now remapable, some of the functions you requested are now available and more will be added over time

Erm... am I too dumb to find this or is it not possible to map UI windows to keys? I was hoping to be able to set eg. V for village window, P for people etc.

Not possible? ;-(
