The game is all about organic city building and development so a road building tool will not be added at any point. What is planned is for the most frequently used roads to upgrade to stone paved for instance
I get a lot of nonsense roads forming in the early game when I'm clearing the area of trees. Don't really want to wait 10-20 weeks to zone housing while they clear.
Guess I'll just have to micromanage forbidden zones for now. Thanks for the info Minotorious.
But woodcutters don't create roads when they are going around cutting trees, simply place the woodcutter hut where you want to have it and then paint all the areas you want the trees gone from blue. The woodcutters will slowly cut all the trees starting from the closest to the hut and spread radially outwards for all the marked trees without creating any roads.
yes in that case the path to the hut that is created will be kinda zig-zagy as they path around trees as you said. I personally prefer to place it just where the forest starts to avoid that
