Can you try manually removing the log file located in C:\Users\"Earl"\AppData\Local\Polymorph Games\Foundation\foundation.log and start Foundation again?
Hello! I checked, but the folder Polymorph is not in the Local folder. May this have anything to do with that I have the game both local and on Steam? I bought it before Steam release. I can't seem to find the folder though.
Documents\Polymorph Games\Foundation\
I fould a solution, but it's just halfway connected to your suggestion. I fould the folder you are talking about, but there were no log file there. So instead, I just deleted the whole Polymorph folder located in documents. Then I tried starting the game and got a different warning. It said Foundation were not permitted to save log file to documents, so it would instead save it to the AppData-folder, which it claimed to not be permitted to do earlier. I hit "OK" and then the game started.
Weird, but that's what fixed it for me, somehow.
i found the folder .. deleted the previous log file, restarted (just to be sure) and ran foundation again.... did the exact same thing ... green progress bar to almost full and stopped.... it did create another log file so i see no reason why it keeps saying it cant create it.
please fix this
If you have no save files then the folder can be deleted.
As mentioned above, if Foundation is being blocked trying to use the Documents folder it should use the AppData folder instead but if it is finding a log file then being subsequently blocked by another application it will keep trying to use the Documents folder.
hello again!
I erased the Polymorph games folder and ran Foundation. It created it again and gave the exact same results.
so..... any other suggestions? help a frustrated gamer here
:)
userpath C:/Foundation2
It will create a new folder with that name and should allow you to proceed.
nope :(
Im gonna try what nicolas suggested
I've tried everything mentioned above and nothing has worked. I have steam and the game installed on an external disk.
Any way to fix this? I really want to play and haven't be able to ever since the last update. It was running just fine before.
Thank you
This could be anti-virus software, Windows controlled folder access or another 3rd party software.
In many cases this has been the anti-virus, adding an exception for the Polymorph Games folder (in Documents) should fix the issue.
If not it could be other software blocking Foundation using the Documents folder. Nicolas' suggestion should fix this by using a different path than the Documents folder.
I have tried everything in this thread and nothing seems to fix the issue...
