Villager walking off fishing hut

Due to the walking entrance not being clearly marked between the 2 arrows, I place a fishing hut on the shore backwards. The villager ended up climbing on to the dock and then proceeded to walk out on the water to fish. He successfully gathered fish, but it was surprising to see. I tried placing another hut what I now figured was the correct way. The new hut had the villager leave in a boat and dock after harvesting.

i have same issue i think my villagers think there god my fishing huts are the right way but yet half of them still walk on water like the water is not there no boat on the docking area either i have to keep restarting also coz game keeps glitching villagers stuck to money declining at a rapid rate when i am selling berries and fish etc but yet villagers leave coz of un happiness i am confused this bugs and glitches need fixing asap the pathways are screwed up that my villagers keep getting stuck and i do not bunch things together i leave plenty of gabs between buildings
