Tavern will not work

Hello there,
so far every Tavern i build won't work, Villagers won't go in it, eat or drink.

I honestly don't know what the problem is i tryed it in 3 different Towns now. I got everything it needs but somehow people will not use it. Any idea?

The tavern is only used by citizen rank villagers to fulfil their luxury goods need by drinking wine, meals they will also consume if available but they do not contribute to the food need.

Citizens will only use the tavern if it is the closest source of luxury goods, if there are more luxury stalls in town make sure the tavern is the closest one.

For the tavern to function it needs at least a kitchen, a part with the bar function and a part with the lounge function.

Thank you for your fast answer, my Villagers are currently "Commoner" do they need to be citizen? Got nothing luxury but the tavern, i got atleast one lounge, bar and kitchen even tho the kitchen is currently not producing meals they should atleast use the bar shouldn't they?

Yes that is correct they will drink wine even if meals are not available a meal is just an extra 100 gold for each wine sold

and yes they do need to become citizens to use the tavern :) To get citizens you need to fulfil all the needs of your commoners. (In the live version the upgrade is done automatically, in the preview there is a pop up and you have to do it manually)

Glad to hear that citizen status was required. it shoudl be mentionned somewhere. As my superb taverd was only visited by 2 people... now i know why. thank you very much!

The tavern sells wine which is a luxury good in game, only citizens have a luxury need indicated by the golden goblet in their citizen panel :)
