promote sisters

Hello,

I can't promote anybody to brother or sister because I need manuscripts that I can only make with brother and sisters I don't have. I saw somewhere on the forum that monks and nuns can work there too but it doesn't work, and when I want to open the menu with the villagers, monks, nuns or anybody, as soon as I unlock the monastery, the window just keeps disappearing and I can't choose the villagers in it.

I don't know if that is a bug, if not then please put a detailed tutorial in it because it seems that I am not the only one with that problem.

You can produce manuscripts (or anything else in the monastery) with novices. They just work slower than brothers and sisters. So, build the scriptorium, add enough novices, and your manuscripts will start appearing.

You first have to fulfil the additional needs for the novice.

Click on a Novice and take a closer look at the window. You will see some (?) in a white round, you will find there some interesting reading...

thx, yes I had a closer look. The only thing what they seem to need is "Küchenessen" (i am German) so it must be in englisch "kitchenmeal". Is that the lack they have?

same problem, the only way you can fulfill the requirement to promote them is to get the items which only promoted sister or brother can obtain.
Novice is not able to be selected in the window...

No, KK Otter has build multiple monasteries (probably, he didn't confirm or deny).
Every novice can do the sister/brother job, it will just do it less efficiently. The game automatically distributes monks to work locations, no need to assign them yourself. If nobody take the job, it's probably because he build the new sub building in another monastery without monk.


To kingofpain : Every new building parts can be unlocked via the progression screen. You need a kitchen and a refectory (and some food).

Edit : Each time you add some building, you will probably need to hire more monk.

I've found it's best to have the scriptorium be a significant part of the monastery. I have around 8-12 monks/sisters working it and promoted them first to get max efficiency. I get 5 books every minute or two (guessing). It's slow but tolerable.

congratulations, but my issue is that my bros and sis cant be promoted, though i have enough manuscripts.
