Hi, I was wondering how to unlock the merchandise taxes privilege ? Thanks

Is that the one you unlock by trading 1,000 gold worth with whichever trade-route? I think you just improve the routes until they give you the quest.

To anyone else looking.

I unlocked this with the mystery tax from Davenport. A rider offered the quest shortly after reaching rank 2 in trade with Davenport.

I used the mandate to revise a labour privilege to free up a slot (I had all three used). It popped instantly along with "the gabelle gambit" for having all seven taxes enacted.

I've been trying for this achievement for weeks. I have played multiple times, but no luck. Is it just Davenport going to rank 2 that triggers the quest for the achievement?
Any other way?

Do you know which scenario you were playing under? was it just open play? or the Berg one?

i have unlocked the two , Teloneum and first Growth, only with the aspirations on the challenge rules...

I just got this playing A Prestigious Berg on Challenging difficulty - I believe I also got it shortly after getting Davenport to level 2. I got the quest about revealing some kind of trade secret. I chose the option to pay 250 gold and like 20 Labour Influence and it gave me the privilege immediately. After freeing up a slot and choosing it I got the achievement and gained access to the market tax.

Thank you. I have played the scenario several times; but I can't get the quest to pop. I wonder what I am doing wrong.

I did not have it come up in one of the games I played.

I think it might be tagged to BUY so many resources form Davenport.

I think than you have the good answear^^cos i bought a lof of thingds during the Senechal Visit...
i was not sure of my answear about only on Aspirations on Challenging game also i have check all my games where i got it...
Anyway Yatagan gave exactly the quest which give "the trade secret"...
Also i got it at the majority of all except one on a aspiration with the clergy.

For exemple , a classic game without aspiration

Also , we may could conclued than that could be triggered on every game But maybe the first condition was to be in a challenging game and after on every games??

I have played a few games where I have purchased several hundred from them. Yet no rider with a quest. Any other suggestions? I feel like i'm bugged.

Thanks for the help! I finally got the quest to pop when going to lvl 4 of Davenport.
