Nun Placement and Promotion Help
When I assign a nun to a building, I can only assign one at a time even though there are others available. I wait a day or two and can then assign another nun.

Is this a bug or is there a limitation on assignments?

I have tried to promote a nun with 5 manuscripts and the button is greyed out. I have over 5 manuscripts in the production abbey.

Why can i not promote a nun?

Do I need to move the manuscripts to a storage building and if so what is it?

Thanks.

For the promotion, you need to fullfill the additional needs so a kitchen and a refectory to promote to brother/sister and a cloister to promote to prior.

For the other, you have to close the window and it's probably a bug.
Let the monastery take care of placement. Build it only when you don't have other non-monastery positions to fill so that you can focus immigration on filling the monastery.

Yes, you need the monastic grange to store the manuscripts, especially if you aren't in a position to promote anyone yet. And before you can promote anyone to brother or sister, they will need to have access to monastery meals as well, so you will need a refectory and a monastery kitchen as well. Look at the requirements for each of the meals. If you don't have the resources for the meals, you won't be able to promote anyone even if you have enough manuscripts because the meals can't be prepared.

You will not need the cloister until you have brothers and sisters. But once you start promoting, this will be a requirement.

Be patient, keep filling your monastery with enough novices to fill each of the sub buildings you have, and everything will take care of itself.

And make sure that each of the monastic buildings are sub buildings to the monastery, not separate.

Yah, had a problem a bit ago in the game where I had 9 unemployed people and assumed it was regular workers (and got no immigration as a result), then click on one of the top menus and noticed it was nine nuns and had to place them manually, I will check if I have a monastery.

Ok, I will look I got like 5 or 6 of the grey stone religious buildings, will double check what they are and see what I need, thanks for the tip and guidance.

Always glad to help when I can.

If you click on your dormitory, it'll show you the dormitory details. Click again, and you'll see the monastery details in the same window.

Always add buildings from there.

In this window (monastery itself, not sub building) you can scroll down and see all the sub buildings and how they are filled. Most of all, here you can see how many monastic staff you are missing to fill all the sub buildings you built.

Thanks again. It was the mess hall that I was missing. Just promoted my first nun.

Ah . . . I have been building each building separately. Did not know one could build them together.

Wonderful!

Once you get used to the sub building mechanic, it gets much easier.
