Need help making gold bars

I have my gold smelter but its only producing coins not bars. what am i doing wrong?

It doesn't produce gold coins. Coins are only earned through taxes and trade I believe. Well also through gifts once in a while and through quests through the outside kingdom , like give them 100 wood and in return it might give you 20 ?prestige? points, and 200 or 450 gold etc depending on the quest.

You need a gold quarry (see below) to make gold ore then that goes to the gold smelter to make gold bars.

Gold quarries are found on those mountains of rocks around the map, I can't remember who has to explore for them as I play with the option to have them already explored on a new map, but after explored they get a gold vein in the middle of one of the outcroppings if it has gold, likewise for marble, stone, iron, quartz etc.

You Bailff, King's Emissary, or Clergical Emissary are the people who can prospect for you. They will investigate one of (perhaps 3) outcroppings on each of those rocky mounds.

Honestly, gold bar smelting is kinda pointless and disappointing.
You make far more money just selling the ore (even before modifiers.)
Gold ore sells for 4g each
Gold smelter itself costs 30g a month, after the huge expense to build i, and unlocking it.
It takes like 6 ore to make a bar which is like 24g of ore and then the bar sells for 10g.
You can combine with with a gem to make jewelry, but again that costs like 30g a month for the jeweler shop.

If you need gold bars or jewelry best off just to buy it or save it from army raids.

That si one of the disappointing things about the game the economy is so broken the parts are almost always worth more than the final product. Meat, Common Wares, and Candles are the only profitable items to be crafted.

Clergy Emissary cannot prospect, but the other two can, FYI.

screenshot please, if you screenshot the smelter info panel I would expect it to show a gold icon as it's output instead of a gold bar unless the mod you have is half assed.

Maybe you can list what mods are active to download them myself and see which one could be causing this, I've not seen any that say they do this but I've not been looking for one. I'm interested to read the coding on how to change a product output from gold bars to gold coins
