Why not a day night cycle?

The new update it says you can select the time of day but there is no a cycle.
It makes no sense

I guess the game time moves so quickly that an actual cycle would be a bit jarring, and also the characters don't go home to sleep at regular times. Aesthetics aside, I suppose there is no reason for it. I have to admit it looks great though for screenshots!

It makes no sense.

Anno and Manor Lord do not care and both have a day night cycle without excuses.
