Coastal fortification

I made a costal village with houses on the beach, it was very nice. I wanted to had Light fortification to my village and I had to make my wall pass through the ocean. And now it seems my fishmonger can't fish any longer.

Is there any way to make an open fortification to the sea or do I just have to extend the fortification very far to include fishes in them?

did you put a gate in the part of the wall you built on the water?

Yes, use watch towers. They can provide the fortification bonus without walls. The down side is they require employ labor to man them.

I didn't try that. I will see if it resolve it.

Edit: It seems it's working but I have a strange bug(?) where the fortification is now finished, the house do have their Fortification bonus, but they wall itself says it is missing one log and that the construction is not over

Possibly, but if it was the case, then the houses should not receive the fortification bonus, right?

No that is not true. Fortification is also granted it there is just a small hole. Try it.
