No access to entertainment - walks straight into tavern
Yeah, so I get the waring "no access to entertainment" a lot. When I click on it, the camera follows a person, who is on his way to the tavern, like 20meters, enters it. Insider there is drinks, space and beds enough.

Why does this person go to the tavern when its entertainment bar is already empty wich triggers the warning? He has access to entertainment, he just doesnt want to go there earlier...

youre getting demand spikes that outstrip the tavern's capacity, you need a bigger lounge or more booze, youre running out of one. I was having the same issue then i watched ALL my castle soldiers decide they wanted to go drinking at the same time. I raised the lounge capacity and no longer get warnings

I was thinking the same, BUT it is always empty. I will rezize it and I will see if it works. Thank YOU!
yeah the tavern only shows who is in there RIGHT NOW, not how many are using it total, and since it doesnt take them long to fill the need bar and F off, its usually empty or only a few people in it at any given time.

But then a whole bunch of people want to go drinking at the same time, and they cant all fit inside at once, so the game throws a 'no access' warning
Bumping this topic as this is what I'm getting now as well.
I built 3 taverns all spread out to cover the town, each taverns are only getting at least 12% capacity, 100 berry brews are available in the granary and each taverns are fully stocked. I let time progress, but the villagers that complain just walk by them.

It's rather annoying to see the villagers say "I'm on free time" and don't bother going for a drink. The rest of the city villagers are fine and has been with just 1 fully stocked tavern.
I am having the same problem, I don't think taverns work quite correctly. I've sat and watched, no one ever goes in. It's not a size problem, I made the tavern large enough to house my entire population, twice over.
The other thing I notice is although I have a ton of berry juice, they aren't collecting it to sell it. Not sure why.

Are you sure you made the tavern all one tavern, with sub-buildings? Asking because this seems to be the thing that confuses people the most when playing Foundation.

Note that a tavern works the same way as other monument buildings like the Castle, Manor, Monastery.... even the City Market you unlock eventually will work that way.

Yea the monuments placements were a struggle for me the first 9 times I restarted. On this play run though, I got the brewery, berry brew assigned, service counter and the lounge on all 3 taverns, plus a few knickknacks on them.

Also, isn't there a difference if you serve beer or wine rather than the berry brew?

Ok then, not sure what's going wrong for you then. When I built my first tavern I did notice it took a while before people started to use it, but once they did I never saw any problems, and never got any errors about being unable to fulfil their entertainment need.

Yes, what you serve matters. I haven't experimented with this yet, but i would have thought you'd be able to serve more than one type, you just need multiple counters, one for each type of food/drink you wish to serve. So your tavern could serve each type of drink if you wanted.

Each counter would probably need to be its own sub-building of the overall tavern.

A work around I found is to unemploy the affected villager, then after a bit they go to the tavern.

Also, what I'd like to mention: Say you build a tavern with a service counter each for berry brew, beer and wine. The taverner will be on free time most of the time (as are all villagers), so the service counters will not be filled up sufficiently, especially if you have tourists and visiting soldiers in town. I found it relatively efficient to build taverns with one kind of drink but several independent (!) counters to serve it.

Also: It is of no relevance if you have the drinks in storage, it is relevant if the taverner brings them to his counter, which he will often not do when they are far away and since he is on free time two thirds of the time.

So it is wise to have a granary near the tavern and to have it store the drinks, so the taverner does not have to pick them up from the brewery or the village centre.

another reason you'll get this notification is if the booze runs out, which can happen especially if you have an inn, or other visitors in town. There'll be those times when the taverners are going to get booze and its empty.
So I played with this more.
Using only berry brew.

I fixed the tavern by first, removing all storage of the berry brew.
Second, putting a ton of brewers.
Third, big tavern, big service.

It seems like the service counter people won't go to storage to get the brew. But they will get it straight from the brewery which is in the same building (attached sub building).

Doing this changed my berry drink use from 5 and week to 100s a week, and stopped most if not all entertainment complaints.

Now I just have to figure out why everyone complains about not enough housing while 50% of my houses sit empty right next to them.

It might be related to where they work. They can't drive and they hate to live far from their workplace.:steamhappy:
