I don't understand how to assign to individual building, monastery and manor
I have multiple big building built in both the monastery and manor but they only assign one function. Tax office instead of tax office and great hall. Monastery needs nun dorm, priest dorm, herb garden and meeting hall. How do I select them individually to assign them? I click one at a time but I am pretty sure it is assigning all of them to the same purpose.

Thanks!

HOW TO BUILD A MONESTARY:

1) click build
2) go to monuments
3) click on monestary
4) Select the chapel
5) place rooms and parts as desired and required (include a door, for example)
6) Press the + button on the left of the parts window to add a new subbuilding
7) chose a dorm
8) place parts as desired/required
9) press the + button and chose another room from the list
10) place parts as desired/required
11) repeat steps 9+10 until your monestary contains every type of function you want it to have, THEN press build all.
12) To make changes or add additional buildings, click on the monestary, click the hammer button in the building window, and then either select an existing room from the list on the left to make changes, or press the + button to add a new subbuilding.

Each room has requirements. All rooms require external access, either having a door or being connected to another room with a door. The dorm only requires a room. A monastic kitchen requires a room and a chimney. Some things, like the berry garden, dont use rooms at all and instead need you to place a resource spot and a processing outbuilding. Some, like a vegetable garden, require only a single outbuilding but then you have to designate a field for it once its built like any other farm.

Remember, ALL monestary functions MUST be part of the same overall monestary in order to work. The monks will then sort themselves out into the various jobs built into the monestary. If you build each room from the build menu, instead of by adding sub-buildings, then what you are doing is actually building several separate monestaries into one building, none of which have all the functions needed to actually be a working building.

The other monument buildings work pretty much the same, if yours isnt working, you did it wrong. The one exception is the manor...the watchpost, tax office, and treasury do not need to be attached to the great hall to function, but you will need one added to the great hall to fulfill certain objective conditions. You will, in fact, NEED to build remote tax offices and watchposts as your city grows.

These steps should be in a sticky on these forum or (better yet) codified in a walkthrough/tutorial in-game. The whole "single complex" thing seems to be a common cause for confusion.
