does this game have any combat?

Nope, just offscreen missions you can send your soldiers on.

Manor Lords will give you that type of combat that you're looking for.

Manor Lords is still in early development, only about 40% completed. Fighting is secondary to building up your village --> City level. When you form the militia, it takes the males away from the family and that families job. Fighting is only limited to Attacking bandit camps, and defending your village, and battles for claim of other regions.

True, but it's more combat of the type that the OP asked about than this game will provide. 😀

Farthest Frontier is much tighter and more complete, gameplay wise. Manor Lords looks beautiful and has great, gridless, organic city building. But much less content and feels more incomplete. Take your pick.

Both are excellent games. FF releases out of EA this spring. ML is still in early development and will be for aprox 18 - 24+ months till it is ready for full release.

Get both games is my recommendation.
