Great Hall
So, I've built it, added an entrance porch with door facing out and the visitor arrow going in. I only have a green tick for the hall. No ticks to show that I've done the other two requirements. I've been trying for 2 days and still no joy!

Can you provide a screenshot of how you're building it?

Yes, building each part separately.

Sorted, thank you so much!

I built them separately rather than by editing the great hall and adding them that way.

99% of "monument not working correctly" posts trace back to this. The game doesnt do a very good job of handholding you through learning how to build monuments, but once you do figure out how to do it right its fairly straightforward

Yes, I just couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong, even watching numerous YouTube videos!

What even is a "great hall"? I can't find anything called a "great hall" in the Manor House menus, to build it.

Oh it seems it just calls the manor House a "Great Hall" after it's built? Confusing... I don't know why it changes name.

The Great Hall is a sub building of the Manor House, just like watchtowers, tax office, bailiff's office etc.

It is advisable that you build the initial tax office etc. as sub buildings in the same Manor House/Great Hall construction. Later, you can add tax offices etc. as standalone buildings in other parts of your village.

If you click on your Great Hall, it'll show the Great Hall details. Click on the Great Hall again, then you should see the Manor House details with all sub buildings and employees. The same works for any other sub buildings.

Annoying quest. I like spreading them out as their own buildings because if you use towers they provide light fortification areas around them. Then all you need is patrols for house density upgrades.

I don't understand. Being part of the same 'complex' doesn't stop you from spreading out individual sub-parts all over the map, if that's what you want.

Yes it does. You can only go so far from the last piece placed in that subbuilding group. So when you switch to a subbuilding it goes back to the default distance. Also starting out you lack the money to spend on doing such a thing on challenging difficulty.

However once you have the money you can spread decorations all over the map. I do it with my great hall subbuilding because it gets a 1.5 splendor multiplier. So all the street lights placed in town are giving labor splendor. The down side is they do not count for beatification to increase housing quality.

You can go as far as you want, as long as the new sub-building consists of at least 2 parts:

(EDIT: That's also true of decorations and parts within the same sub-building. As long as you put two parts near each other -- like two adjacent rose bushes, those two parts can be placed at any remote location.)

My Great Hall / Tax Office / Bailiff is off to the left, and the new Watchpost is separate and under construction to the right.

That's on Challenge difficulty in the early game. It's not difficult cost-prohibitive.
