Weather and Day/Night cycle

I have only been playing the pre launch and demo for the last month or so but I am sure I had an extended rain event on one of those that tanked my food production. Was an interesting little challenge but I have seen nothing like it since; is weather still in the game? Also, the trailer shows a night time and early morning setting for the village. Is that just trailer fluff or have I turned that option off somehow?

Weather and the time of day can be toggled in the lower left corner of the screen. I have no idea if it impacts progress anywhere.

There is no weather event anymore. You can cosmetically add weather, dusk, and night using the buttons in the lower left corner of the game screen, but they don't do anything other than look different.

Wonder if there's an option planed to actually make the time of day change without doing it manually. That would make placing torches and lanterns soooo much more usefull.
