and you think a game with grafik 2010 is very good at <40fps in 2025 with gamer pc? holy ...
Your Eye/Brain-kombi isn't able to recognize 24 images per sec of an analog movie or a 25 images per second digital video. So you are also not able to differentiate 30 images per second of an animation. Even a shooter animation that consists of 30 generated images per second can not be the problem. So every game is playable in 60 fps without any losses. Because you can not be faster than your nervous system known as reaction time. And that depends on the physiological limits the neuoronal processes has. A normal time to react of 320ms is about 3,125 per a second or 1,000ms (german depiction of numbers, for english 3.125 and 1.000ms) of a second. Even if you are able to anticipate a move of an NPC enemy you only have this ability to react.
So please don't overestimate your abilities. You can't be better than your body.
That there are graphical issues is true, because the EA-version I could play without any problems, Now I get graphics driver timeout errors even with lower settings at 30fps with my 8GB card.
i got a NVIDIA 4070 and the game is easily maxing out my GPU at 100%.
Im now at around 500 villagers and i had to limit the fps to 30 and turn shadows off, so i can keep playing with around 80% GPU load.
I've played games with raytracing and DLSS that had lower GPU usage than this.
Annoying especially if you use the paint brushes at the moment…
I have a 4080 super - throttled back the FPS to 30 but didn't find this was working for me. I went back down from 4K to 2K on the res, lowering shadows etc. No real performance gains..maybe something but I didn't notice. All I could hear was my GPU fans... Sometimes the FPS even dropped 30 (usually when auto saving), which as many have pointed out - points to a hurricane engine problem and its inability to fully utilise certain hardware.
Anyhoo, I accidentally discovered a thread where people had observed that the villagers were consuming at a higher rate when the game was running at x3 speed. Another player even stated that building costs too were increased during top speed, whilst production was decreased.
People suggested running at x2 or x1. I tried x2. Seems like there's is something here...as food levels began to rise.
Stragnest thing was that...my GPU hardly made a noise at x2 and makes no more noise than when Im watching a movie.
At x3 it was running initially at 33% but as soon as the city got bigger, this figure rose. I noticed spikes in usage whenever I was on a "beauty building session" and started plopping down rose bushes and trees.
As my city got prettier with more added "eye candy", my GPU started hitting 50%...vram usage still around 33%.
Maybe this works for some peeps. Hope so, as I find it near impossible to chill with this game whilst hearing my GPU fans spinning like crazy :)
Early access run without problems even in late game, release version turns in painful mode with a lot of textures, enviroment and buildings missing, replaced by blue squares, sometimes more and sometimes less...
Cpu: AMD FX-8350

Formatted and fresh install.

Need some fixes :/
Apparently launching the game doesn't trigger the boost of the GPU clock. Basically the GPU stays idle. I tried to touch most related options in windows and nvidia to try to manually trigger it but nothing seems to work.
Even more weird, sometimes (around once every 20 tries) the game just run perfectly and msi after burner shows me the clock frequency has increased as it should. So I just launch and close my game a lot of time until I get one session that actually works... Very annoying.
Please do something
