Am I missing something? I can unlock Royal Courtier at 25 splendor but it needs heavy fortification to build it. However you can't get Heavy fortification until 75 splendor.

I think the Castle itself gives Heavy Fortification iirc, so you would just need to place the RC building(s) within the radius of the castle fortification aura.

Yeah, after multiple reloads I finally found it. After buying the rustic architecture you can get a heavy fortification when editing the castle itself.

Do you need to actually replace the keep? If that's the case, then the light keep is pretty useless.

Yes, after trying it, I think you need to replace the keep, which makes the original wooden keep a waste of time.
