Report a translation problem
I had the same problem. I tried everything, even reinstall the game. But this solution worked for me. I started a new game, waited for the first autosave, then maked a manual safe, go back to menu and the old saves are back.

If any dev is reading this - please look into how the save files list is generated in the menu.

And you are right about checksum - I navigated to the save folder, deleted the latest one and then the village re-appeared in the load screen.
I can't mark my own post as answer, so I added it to the OP as Edit.
But i think they have a lot of fixes to do in that game :)
