I reached the endgame, unlocked and built everything, over 600 pop (never over 15fps btw, high cpu load for entity behaviour calculations, opti-work need to be done on AI pathfindings to reduce load). But yeah... you get a cozy and unique medieval village, the fun is in the building and decorating (all aspects of the game push to you pay attention to esthetic, details) and that's it, because that was the focus of the game from the beginning.

If you search for moaaar diversified gameplay civ/ceasar/SrP-like, weeeell that's not the game for it.

I wanted to buy this game cause I liked the demo but I quickly found the game too comfy. I like both challenges and disasters in city builders. Is there any military gameplay (at least based on defending the city)? Epidemics, revolts and so on?

No, not really. You can send villagers on "combat" missions, but they just leave the map and come back every now and then. I think it's the only way that villagers can die- any villager that does not eat/have housing just gets angry and leaves.

There's not very much to do, it's basically a sandbox. Though I hesitate to even call the game "comfy" with how frustrating and linear it is sometimes. I don't like that so many resources (like vegetables, honey, wine) are locked behind the religious faction.

There's three "missions" to complete that have objectives, one focused for each faction.

At this point in time, I would not recommend the game until they fix some stuff, make techs less restrictive, and add more to do; plenty of other city-builders to check out.

Okay, the game is cool but it doesn't seem quite made for me. Thanks for the feedback!

If you're looking for some light RTS combat in a Banished-style city builder, I recommend Farthest Frontier. You train and equip medieval troops to fight off barbarian attacks. They also have a very interesting, innovative farming system them I love that accounts for maintaining soil quality through crop rotation.

I'd put it on my wishlist but had forgotten about it. It's probably just what I need!
