When is a mission finished?

I tried my best at the new military mechanic. Wasnt that hard to build a small fortress, train 5 spearmen and send them on their first mission.

After a while, they came back - I saw them entering the fort. I even got my money (40 gold...) - but not notification, that the mission is over, that I got money nor that one soldier was wounded.

So after a while (one soldier was still wounded but healed a bit already) I clicked to withdraw the company from that mission.

I did not lose those 40G. I was able to send the compan again, now with more power - but still only to the first mission. The other mission where still locked because I first had to finish the first mission.

So when is a mission finished?

After a while you'll get an actual completion pop-up that tells you the summary of the campaign (how many trophies, wounded, etc.). For the first level mission for money, I think it goes about 4 cycles? I never counted but that seems about what I can remember.

So, I just tried again.

I appears the following:

They came back. Gatheres in the fort. And then they went again? I even heard the sound which came the first time I started the mission (the war horn)

While they are busy the second time, I got the message, that they finished and brought back like 25G. But the gold was on my account 2 weeks earlier, and as I said, the company was physically back earlier was well, running around in my city.

So then, they came back a second time. Same thing, They brought some money, and left again. Third time on this mission.

Is this what you meant by "cycles"?

You have to wait really long, After a while some "completed mission" pop up show up and the party isn't in mission anymore in the menu.

I think it took several months for the first mission to actually end

Finally, as you said, after like 4 cycles, so 4 times leaving and coming back the mission was over.
