How to Equip Weapons on Company?

I got 51 Spears in my Armoury. In the Army Tab i cant equip any weapon. What am i doing wrong?

They do it automatically, at least for me . . . but they do other stuff first (meeting their needs for food, training, etc.). One of the tabs shows a drop down where you can change the weapon if you have options, but I never had to mess with it.

Press on the crossed swords next to the map symbol (top right)
Press on the second symbol from left - it is a shield. Next to trumpet and the guard symbol.
There is your Company.
On the right page, you can choose what the company does and which weapon they should use.

My Armory has short bows.
My new bow company is on duty.
Their weapon is adjusted to short bow.
Still, they dont pick up.
The company is right next to the place where my other company is stationed.
THIS company got its weapons in like 1 second.
Any advice?

EDIT: Solved it. ALTHOUGH the tent for the bow camp had a WHITE arrow, people couldnt reach the camp... Small repositioning and it was done. Why though? Why are there white and red arrows if you cant rely on them???
