I know some require two refined foods but I am full with meat, bread, cheese
- If the stall is empty or was empty when the villager attempted you get this.
- Make sure each stall has the 30 storage. I caught my bread stall with a gap or something that did not think the tent was attached and only had a storage limit of 10. If you have multiple stalls make sure the total storage is divisible by 30 for each stall.
I am at 121 citizens, two bread stalls that have been filled for more than a year, 97 bread currently in stock, and villagers walk right past the stall and complain I am not feeding them. And then they leave.
This is bankrupting me and killing my game.
On top of that there needs to be a shortage for a VERY long time to drop happiness far enough to leave. That is in unless there is another type of shortage for the needs.
People need to be looking at the status screen that shows a list of happiness and then look at who has low happiness and solve those problems.
Normally you click the notification to take you to the problem, but it doesn't do anything.
im getting it too, it's a bug that seems to have come with the latest patch from what i can tell
Could it be, that the one who is selling the food is off duty when the one who needs it try to buy it from the market?
Just a theory, I have not had that problem myself, yet, when playing.
That villager could be your bailiff stuck on on a prospecting mandate, the needs go down while out there and if you send the bailiff right back out this can cause the issue. It could also be some villager that got stuck as well.
If you only have ONE of that stall type then think about how the mechanics work. It does not restock unless it runs out. Which means if ANY villager was attempting to use it while the market tender is getting more you get that alert. (The correct way would have been to code the game to have transporters deliver to the market.)
The big thing is when you see the message to immediately pause the game and then look at the villager who has the shortage or pull up happiness and look at the lowest happiness numbers.
As I said earlier if you pause really quick, and you go to your stalls and your stalls at at like 27-30 stock then that was probably a timing issue with restocking.
In other words it is one of them annoying warnings like when you used watchtowers to gain fortification and the guard is away too long.
I think people do not understand the mechanics behind the shortages. If a commoner has a shortage then they suffer a happiness penalty if it continues. Which means if you have a commoner suffering itthe look at the database for people, sort the database by lowest happiness, and then look at commoners with low happiness.
If you see none then you have a timing issue with your market tenders being away to restock the from the granary. Which means one of tow things, your granary is too far form your market or you do not have enough stalls, a stall is only good for about 50 villagers reliably. While you may only have a dozen commoners you are forgetting that serfs will eat refined foods as well.
