On my current settlement game I forgot to build a well and even though I quickly fixed the problem I still get that alert message hours later into the game. I have grown my settlement into a town now but I still get that alert message. It's an annoying bug I guess. I just learned to ignore all the alerts and just check things manually from time to time.
Is there a specific market 'setup' one should aim for? i read an old post that a Dev themselves suggested having 3 food, 1 goods, 2 luxury per market per 50/60 people
So i've been following that (minus the luxury, not there yet) but even so, i'm still getting unhappy masses complaining about an apparent lack of (refined) food.
Should i have a Refined Food in the first stall followed by a Rustic or what?
Currently i have 2 Markets - First one is Berries, Meat, Cheese (Clothes) the Second is Fish, Bread, Meat (Common Goods) in that order of drop down menus to sell.
I'll also note i only have 22 Commoners, so i find it odd that out of 4 stalls between 2 markets, i 'dont have enough' refined food, despite actually having enough.
EDIT: Personally i think theres just a UI/Notification bug because i whenever i get the complaints about housing or food, i go to click on it but it doenst do anything, doesnt select/view the villager making the complaint - i also have 'no available resource/material' icons above production buildings that are actually producing stuff, so theres obviously some bugginess involved imo.
Also, not sure if this is a mechanic but what i have witnessed is there is a flow to how villagers do their daily routine. and its best to have their church close to the houses and markets by the church. its free time, church, food, home OR church, home, food, home, work. So I found having the market, church, house more effective then like markets near their work. (thinking home, church, work and they get the market on their way) they seem to hit their house before going out for their needs.
So i try and keep church and markets close to their house and work in the distance so its only one travel time.
