Guys, a little tip here.. As many probably will do, plot a large area field. Don't, do them squarely and one each for each worker. it won't overlap each other, so you'll have grain coming in constantly, since the wheat are not sat on a specific date or season, therefore, it'll work more like a belter feed system, than a complete harvest. Hope that made sense

So instead of a single mega corporation farm, build numerous independently run single villager farms? :cow::common_chicken:

I don't get it. Instead of doing 1 field which says "this is big enough" you do E.g. Three small square fields which are in their sum aswell "big enough" for three farmers.

Or are you taking about a lot of wheat farms with just ONE farmer and one small field?

First, you hire 1 farmer, make farm size big enough to say "This field is adequate" for 1 farmer, then repeat that step with another farmer, with 1 field, and so on and so on.

1 farmer, 1 square, rinse and repeat.

However, as you add more farmers, you can increase the field, you don't want to do that, so you have to make another, seperate plot of field, until it says that it's good enough for 1 farmer. You have to play around with it a bit, but it's still works better than making a huge field. You can actually see it in the trailer where the devs has done something similar.

Thats enough for my 4ppl windmill to run nonstop all year long.

You could most likely get that output even higher as i didnt fiddle around with living area and travel time for those workers at all so far.

It´s not enough for a fully staffed backery, but i got the impression that 2 of these farms should be more than enough

any tips on how you did this efficiently I find wheat farms such a space hog and I dont think mine produce that much, but I will need to check again!
It takes 5 or 6 full size wheat farms to provide enough wheat for 1 windmill and 1 bakery. It takes a ton of space and provides very little bread. very bugged

balance of the bread making is way off at the moment, essentially not worth the effort, investment and space if you can have alternative food source
All the farms (wheat, hop) seem to sow and harvest at the exact same time, regardless of when you create a field. So I don't know how the above set up can work, it doesn't seem like you have workers working at a different time.
Wheat is broken on 3x, when I made the wheat farms they would use almost the whole field or use it all, but after I doubled my population I noticed that my wheat fields were not being used as much anymore, so I added 2 workers each and it didnt seem to help at all, even tho I kept the field size the same and it went from adequatly sized to it being to small, but if I put it on on 1x it started using the whole field, and when I switched it to 3x, I noticed that the when they would work on the field they would freeze after every action, I guess it could be my processing power, but nothing else seems to affected, I will keep testing and see if anything else is affected, but on 3 full fields I am able to gain enough wheat for 1 full mill and 1 full bakery if its on 1x speed
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600XT 4.2GHz
Usage: 25%-32% Core 4: 100% does not change if I switch from 1x-3x
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT
Usage: 82%-83% also does not change if I switch from 1x-3x
Population change: 79-156
FPS: 30-40 I didnt notice a change on it although it may hover more around the lower 30s but no frame drops or anything serious about frame generation

Both my hweat and my berries start filling up in storage if I go down to 1x instead of 3x speed. Trying to find a balance at the moment between speeding to get to what I want and going slow to keep resources in stock and people happy.
I have 4 wheat farms with expansions on all, 2 mills and 2 bakeries and a population of over 420, and have no problem keeping up. I currently produce meat, bread, cheese, fish and berries. In stock I have over 1000 berries, 1000 meat, 800 fish, 400 bread and 300 cheese. I'm also producing tavern meals with over 50 in constant stock, and War rations with over 300 in stock. No adjustments made to the game rules.

Sounds great! Would you like to share a screenshot of your whole city, just to get an impression of your build-style? I am very interested.
also build specialized granary for wheat. over production that could not be stocked pile is lost. by building specialized granary you ensure a constant flow of ressources for the mill and the baker in between harvest

I have 4 fields, one mill and one bakery without any issues producing more bread than I need. (one granary for wheat and one granary with extension and one granary for flour and bread)

Specialized Granary is self explaining but thank for adding that.

What dies 4 fields mean? 12 farmers? 28 farmers?
