Everything is gone!

All my game progress is gone! The entire city is completely gone. Why is this?

As mentioned in multiple announcements EA save files are not compatible with the release version, you can however use the 1.9 beta branch to go back and play your old game for as long as you want

Maybe zapro has the same issue as me... I started a new game after the game released and now the game crashed and all my save files are gone. Everything I built in the last 24 hours is gone. I need to start a new game.

I read somewhere, and someone please correct me if I am wrong, that if you go to the save location and delete a save that is 0kb, your saves are back

Interesting, I tried to see if I can do that but I don't even have a "save" folder in the game folder. I'll look into that further though, thank you.

Why would you want that? Or do you mean the demo save? Yes you can.

How do you download the beta branch and will the mods still work there?

Yes mods should work in the 1.9 beta, to download you right click on the game, select properties and then under betas choose the 1.9 branch

My save folder is empty. When I exited the game it failed to do the Steam cloud save so maybe there is some bug with the cloud save?
