Well... I've had the game for a number of years, played almost 400 hrs in it, and I must admit this release, to me, is just not so impressive.

Granted... it could be the fact of what did work does not now work (Text UI sizing - for me and a few others) but I'm seeing a number of complaints here from long time players.

What do the long-term players feel, as I do not want to be mistaken in what I'm seeing.

Just started. Looks good and plays well so far.
I've been with Foundation from the very start. I will have to invest many hours before I can really tell...

Wished we could have the "on foot" camera but have not yet seen it.

too soon to say for me. I love the new look and feel, not liking that it's crashing semi-regularly.

with the UI text sizing - you can increase it. for some reason 100% is tiny, I had to increase it to 125% to make it readable.
The game needs a TRUE sandbox until Mods can come up w/ the genie lamp. No money resources limits, Just let me build an empire. I've had the game for as long as I can remember (at least 4 years) this new version is okay, but still needs work.

950 hours here, I don't think we can judge on release day... give it a week, until release bugs are squished (too many crashes for me so far :(

I noticed I was only really crashing when I had two settings enabled: Autosaves and any shadows above the lowest not disabled setting, but I have a GTX 1660S, so your mileage may vary on the shadows if you have a better card.

oh good tip, I will try disabling autosave and adjusting the shadow setting (the overall setting is currently Medium). edit: I have a RTX 2060, think it's about as old as yours

The old ways don't work because it ain't the same game. It's pretty much completely different. Seems also to now have a rather steep learning curve. First thing is forget what you knew. Took me a good dozen failed starts, but I'm finally cruising. Biggest issue for me is getting overwhelmed once the city gets around 100 population. At that point there are a myriad of things to keep track of. Like keeping track of newcomers. once you have a bunch of territories. You get so involved in the new areas you can easily miss new people coming in, for example. I learned to check the map every few minutes. That way you can see the newcomers when they're still at the edge of the map. You can even welcome them in map mode

My suggestion would be to move the town center to the area where you're currently focusing. The first batch of immigrants might still go to the initial spot, depending on when they spawned, but after that, they'll come to wherever you placed it.
