Castle fortifications
Shouldn't the castle wall provide passive, heavy fortification on the inside? Why doesn't she do that?

It should. If its not, your wall is not fully connected. Check by each gate to make sure each wall segment is snapped correctly and there are no gaps. The wall also needs to all construction complete before it applies its fortification benefit.
First of all, that is one of the worst picture hosting sites I have seen, all sorts of popup spam trying to view it.

After finally being able to view it it should have provided the heavy fortification, if the heavy walls work like normal light walls do. Normal village fortifications apply the buff the moment it bottlenecks anywhere and does not have to be 100% enclosed. However I think the castle walls are missing the same thing, I had an issue where closing the gap was complete pain and could not get the fortification buff.

I would try the north gate first. It looks like the wall is not snapped to the left side. Click the gate, edit, then stretch a tiny wall from it, you should then see the interior change to the //// pattern.
Tell me a better picture hosting site.

Yeah, Google "how to screen shot in steam" and read the steam guide "how to share a screen shot" - done. No need for spam overfilled sharing sites.
