Problems with auto-assigning monastery jobs
Built my monastery, including a dorm for monks and a dorm for nuns. Built the activity sub-buildings like herb garden and scriptorium. Figured out how to get villagers to come live there.

How long to wait until the game auto-assigns any of these people to jobs? Tried manual job assignment and the panel seemed non-functional, would not assign any jobs.

Adding insult to injury, I sent a bunch of successive immigrants to the monastery, ending up with 10 unemployed people. Now the immigration rate has dropped to Nil. Going next to see if there's a way around that.

When you built other structures (where they can work/sleep/etc), did you make sure that you selected the original monastery structure you built, and then selected a "sub-building" (using the + symbol) from there, for what you were trying to further construct?

It is my understanding, that if you do not do this, and you instead select the standard "Build" function, and then select "Monastery," then when you build something else, this is considered a separate and second Monastery "monument," and thus you must employ monks/nuns separately for each "monument" you build. This is an error. Always, always, select your original monastery structure, and then the sub-building option when constructing more structures. By doing this, all the monks/nuns you hire will then know there is only one Monastery monument, and they can be auto distributed by the game-code, to all the structures within that one monument.

No, the monastery Monk/Nun assignment UI and interface and code is bugged to all ♥♥♥♥ right now. My monastery works perfectly then all of a sudden, current working monks at Vegetable Gardens just decide to stop turning up to work, even though they have been assigned Farmers. they will just not return to the garden they were assigned to. If you attach new novices, they may stick around working for a while, but I've found eventually, you run into the same problem.

if you want monks assigned to the scriptorium, you can make it bigger. The game decide to allocate them equally so if you have a big scriptorium at least some will go there

this goes for all subparts, if you want more monk working there just make the subpart bigger. Assigning manually doesn't do anything

I will give this a try. I thought I built this way, but perhaps not. I have also been seeing many reports of actual bugs, so starting a new game and ignoring Clergy for now is Plan B.

Hi,
I have recently finished "Pater Noster" and "Abbey of Abundance" , and can say than i don't really meet a bug..
for the first one i have choosen nuns and monks and the second only monks cos the limitation at only max 75 villagers..
the system was not bugged , just only a little lousy ^^
For exemple to make 3 kitchens : you will need to open 3 sub-buildings diferents cos if you put it on one unique kitchen , you can't have differents meats but only one !!...
for the dorms's monks , it is better to make the inverse and have finally only one building..i explain why .
To assign quietly the monks/nuns :
Somes migrants are here.
Pause the game , open the dorm's monks , choose the mans between the migrants and immediatly transfom it in a monks , un-pause the game , they go to theirs rooms and jobs if somes are free...
At the end ,you will need 150 monks/ nuns also that is not very simple to found how to manage alls the jobs...

don't ignore it, clergy aspiration is the easiest in my opinion !
